2025 D.F.O. PotY and Hall of Fame Nominees!

It's that time of year to find out exactly who was the best of the year AND to find out who best of all-3.0-time!

First off, who is going to end 2025 as the best of the 3.0 best? Who will take home the (invisible and nonexistent) Singles Player of the Year? Doubles Player of the Year? Doubles Team of the Year? Captain of the Year? THE 3.0ER OF THE YEAR?! With so many great nominees it's a who's who of NEO, NWO, and OHVA superstars all hoping to earn an award that they've never heard of!

Secondly, who is going to end 2025 as the best of all-3.0-time best? Who will join Barry, Bob, Jim, Craig and the rest as the best of the 3.0 best ... of all-3.0-time?! Who will enter the D.F.O. Hall of 3.0 Fame (figuratively since no actual hall exists)?!

D.F.O. Player of the Year Nominees

Like every snowflake, all 3.0ers are special and unique ... but which 3.0 snowflake is the best?!
Like every snowflake, all 3.0ers are special and unique ... but which 3.0 snowflake is the best?!

For each award, two to three 3.0ers have been nominated from each district thanks to their incredibly impressive stats. AND WHAT A LOAD OF IMPRESSIVE STATS WE HAVE!

Indeed, the heart of Ohio tennis, Northeastern Ohio (NEO), where more leagues, matches, and tournaments take place than anywhere else in the Buckeye state, has a plethora of 20+ match winners nominated for several awards this season! Noah, only the 9th 3.0er to achieve 20 wins in a 3.0 season, headlines the singles players but Sayyad is a tournament winner while Abe won the most prestigious tournament of the year, the 18+ NTRP Sectional Championships! In doubles, Michael and Jerome are both up for Doubles Player of the Year and Doubles team of the Year, meaning one may be filled with heartache ... or happiness! But Trip won the head-to-head matchup while Eric and Tavi finished runner-up in two 3.0 tournaments! Meanwhile, Captain Dave won two Flight championships, Captain Noah claimed a State trophy, and Captain James led his 55+ group to Nationals!

But they'll also be competing against the boys (and men) of Northwestern Ohio (NWO), a group that has one of the largest 18+ leagues in all of O-H-I-O, meaning head-to-head matchups are a given! Which is key, because though it looks like BGSU's Ajay will walk away with a cornucopia of (invisible) awards thanks to his 20+ singles victories, tied for the 9th best single-season-singles mark (say that three times fast!) and led his club to a best ever 40+ third place Nationals finish, it was Ben who gave him one of his only two losses in their only head-to-head matchup! In doubles, 3.0 veterans Mark and Kristopher face off versus 18 match winner Alan while BGSU's Timothy and Jonathan hope their playoff victories are more impressive than Kristopher and Mike's undefeated tag-team partnership! Hall of 3.0 Famer James headlines, as he usually does, the Captain awards but Kristopher's undefeated 18+ run and Jason's record-setting 40+ run, the best ever finish for a NWO club, make this a tough group to emerge from!

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!

The area that has the least amount of tennis but won its first State championship last season - and sometimes doesn't even play tennis in Ohio (it's true!) - has a chance at some major (nonexistent) awards, too! Ohio Valley (OHVA) may not have the same opportunities as NEO and NWO, but that doesn't mean the clubs from Columbus, Dayton, and West Virginia (which according to D.F.O. Geographers may not actually be in Ohio) don't not never play some top tier 3.0 tennis! Eric's double-digit singles wins are impressive for OHVA while Eric's 19 overall victories are among all-3.0-time OHVA leaders! Meanwhile, Captain Murthy enjoyed another fantastic 3.0 season at the helm, meaning the nominees from NEO and NWO will have their work cut out for them if they hope to hoist the (invisible) D.F.O. Player of the Year Awards!

Hall of 3.0 Fame Nominees

And check out the 19 nominees for the Hall of 3.0 Fame ... with names changed to protect the innocent! As the Voting Committee may only select as many as five ... or as few as zero ... who amongst the current nominees will join the most illustrious 3.0 Hall of Fame - the D.F.O. Hall of 3.0 Fame (which may also be the ONLY 3.0 Hall of Fame, but that's neither here nor there)?!

Results will be revealed in late December because what's a better gift than 3.0 IMMORTALITY?!
